About the Course
Introduction
This accreditation is designed to help businesses comply with the Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999 by explaining how to complete a suitable and sufficient workplace risk assessment. Risk assessments are a legal requirement for all types of workplaces.
The course helps you to understand each of the key steps of a risk assessment, including how to identify risks, manage hazards and determine the likelihood of harm, so that you are confident in carrying out a risk assessment in your own premises.
Course Duration
The Risk Assessment accreditation covers two modules over a half-day course. The course includes both a theory and practical assessment.

Upon completion of this course, Learners will be able to:
Understand why carrying out a risk assessment is essential for improving health and safety.
Understand the types of injuries and ill-health that occur as a result of failing to manage health and safety.
Have an awareness of the legal responsibilities placed on employers and employees when carrying out risk assessments.
Understand each of the five key steps of the risk assessment process.
Feel confident carrying out suitable and sufficient risk assessments of their workplace and work activities.
